“Documentary photography has been my first love, from when I started out to get a grip on the world as a teenager. Ever since, humanity in all of its expressions has never ceased to feed my curiosity. Finding perplexing beauty and hidden meaning in the cracks of the mundane, capturing the unforeseen, that is what drives me and gives me a true sense of purpose.” — Lutz Konermann
Throughout the decades Lutz has acquired vast technical and aesthetic experience in both film and digital formats, using a wide range of equipment, from classical rangefinders and DSLRs to panoramic cameras and medium format. He is the designer of various photographic accessories and does his own fine art printing, both wet and digital.
Lutz has been honing his skills by attending workshops and masterclasses by Klavdij Sluban, Christine Doury, Philippe Bachelier, Eric Bouvet as well as Magnum photographers Raghu Rai and Matt Black.
